Sleepless Night

I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking about everything that I need to do and everything that is "uncertain" about my trip. It shouldn't be this stressful, should it?
  1. We are supposed to teach Sunday School when we are there. What are we going to teach?
  2. I get to go on a school tour "field trip" for 5 days with the school I'll be teaching at. What do I pack? Where are we going? What will the sleeping conditions be like? When we went on safari last time we stayed in nice places, but our drivers stayed in places that were less than desirable. Will that be what the students and I will stay in?
  3. Last time one of our Doctors was shaving in the shower and cut himself. He got a horrible infection from that. They say don't drink the water, but I guess you also have to be afraid of getting water in cuts. Should I get a prescription to take with me in case of infection?
  4. Where will we be staying?
  5. Will anyone pick us up from the airport when we arrive late on the 31st?
See why I couldn't sleep? Those are only a few of my questions going through my head. Feel free to post a comment to "reassure" me!! Blessings!

Having your own personal post is a great idea!

Sounds like some planning might alleviate SOME of your fears and help you get more rest. Though in Tanzania, planning doesn't always solve the problem. :-)
I think you need to get together with your team!

Having said that, do remember that there are brothers and sisters in Christ going with you and waiting for you in Tanzania. Surrounded by the Holy Spirit, you will be blessed to be a blessing. God will work through you just as God did on your last trip.

God's peace,
Faye

God already knows who's going to pick you up from the airport, where you are going to sleep, etc., etc... I worry about stuff too, like you, and just can't help it. When you get back you will say to yourself "what was I worried about?" In the mean time, pray to God, talk to him multiple times every day, and ask him to help ease your anxiety.

Love you!!

This is so exciting to be able to follow your journey! Thank you for sharing it!

Regardless of how much you plan, God is in control, so give your worries to Him! Following are my favorite "faith rest" promises to claim when I'm stressed. Maybe they'll help you?

1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Exodus 14:14 - The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (To me, this means that I don't have to go to "superhuman" lengths to make sure everything is "right"...I can only do so much and the rest is up to Him)

And my absolute favorite:
1 Samuel 17 - the battle is the LORD's!

I will be praying for you as you prepare and while you are on your journey! Stand firm, He cares for you and will meet your needs in amazing ways when you trust Him completely!

Love in Christ,
Karen
